Santha - Triumph of artistic will.
Santha by all means is an ordinary household Malayalee woman from Kallai, Calicut who hails from the lower middle class stratum of the society. What makes Santha unique is her artistic initiations. For her, painting is life; in fact more than life. The paintings of Santha explore the lively relationship with man and nature. She does not belong to any genre and that ‘non treaty’ nature makes her paintings lively and genuine. Santha touches her canvas marvelously to depict common day to day objects and characters but they appear in the paintings with thousand tongues to speak out. This is what makes the paintings of Santha a banquet in the eyes of the beholder.
